Zimmy went in for surgery at 8am this morning. He had a lump removed from the base of his tail and sent to the lab...(how does that get packaged exactly...?) and had to get his rotten teeth cleaned. We were nervous to put Zim under since there is a risk, apparently it would have been more dangerous to the leave the rotting teeth in. We received a call mid surgery, advising he had 12 rotten teeth that needed to be removed! Poor guy...he looked so sad and weak, but in typical Zim fashion, still managed to wag the end of his tail when he saw us.
Always a little exclamation point...!
He's been sleeping since we got home at 5pm, with lots of pain killers. The vet said the surgery went very well and the gums/teeth were much more rotten that expected so it was really good that we had it done.
There's nothing like a little doggies unconditional love, even when he's sad and in pain. We feel very blessed to have the little guy home with us, safe and sound!
