Happy 8th birthday Chloe

Dear Chloe,
I continue to be in awe over the beautiful way you view life and all that you have to say. We had a very special day today. First of all, thank you for choosing me to spend the day with on this special birthday. I'm honored. We got up in the morning and had pancakes and opened a few presents. You got new reading books. Then we loaded the car with our bikes and drive to rustic bakery cafe for a croissant and latte. The latte had a cute cat made in the milk foam. ;)
Next we watched the turtles in the little pond then got a small bag of candy from meitte for the car ride. You picked out jelly candies. We drive to San Francisco and parked at the start if the panhandle park. We rode our bikes into golden gate park. You are so confident and happy on your new bike. So great to see! Next we rode to the deyoung museum and took a break at the botanical gardens where we walked around looking for "fairyville" trails. Dirt trails thru the gardens that looked like fairies might live there. After exploring some more we hoped back on our bikes and rode to Stowe lake where we rented a paddle boat and paddled around the lake. Your feet didn't reach the peddles so you took over the steering. We had a lot of laughs, trying to keep the boat straight and bumping into the trees and rocks!
Next we hoped back in our bikes and rode back thru the park. Stopping off at your old favorite playground in the panhandle for a few times down the slide.
We rode our bikes to green chili kitchen, got a late lunch and brought burritos home for the kids. We rode back to the car and drove home, but not before stopping off at the pet store where you picked out Patches, your new pet hampster! You were so excited! We went back home and you opened your presents ( nicely wrapped by Finn and violet). New home and toys for your hampster cage! Your friend Valerie came over for dinner and cake. Red velvet which we picked up from falettis. Oh and we also pumped into Jonty, Your old friend from preschool. We love our old neighborhood and had so much fun spending the day there. You made some great observations today Chloe...at lunch you asked, "mommy, why did you go back to the same job? You should have been an artist instead." Thanks Chloe, you think I could have been? "Yes, you are a great painter and drawer. Your drawings look like they came off a printer. " we should start painting more together Chloe.
"Mommy, what's a hero?" - someone you look up to, who does something that you admire or would like to be like.
"I like who I am, so my hero is me. Wait I changed my mind, my hero is you." - Me really, Why?
"Yea, because I like how you help people and find solutions"
"When I grow up, I want to be a ballerina, model or scientist". Actually I just want to be a Mom. And I'll save my money from when I'm a kid to pay for things.
"Mommy what is your painting about with the birds and the circles?"
-"it's about being free like a bird and being married and having to think about other people before yourself. And when your not married you can be a free bird.
"But daddy's married and he doesn't always think of you first". He's trying his hardest.
Chloe, thank you for being my free bird. You are an amazing little
Girl and I love you forever.
