When Chloe enters the classroom and sees her friends, her big beaming smile spreads across her face. She runs to greet her friends with a delightful squeal and begins to engage in their activities such as dressing up in the latest princess dresses or brings her own "Backpack, Backpack". She will jump, roll and laugh with her friends as they roam about the room, cooking up some food for the babies in the kitchen or playing with the animals in the block area.
Chloe has worked through some emotions about transitions with a new baby on the way and with Mom going back to work. With support of her friends and teachers, Chloe has had some time to process her new surroundings by reading stories in the classroom and hearing about friend's similar transitions. Chloe has gained more confidence in her abilities to adjust to these changes and she remains consistently upbeat and enthusiastic with her friends and teachers at school. Chloe has made strides in expressing her feelings with words and has shown genuine empathy for friends who are sometimes sad in the classroom.
Chloe has a strong expressive spirit and she is inclined to dance, run, sing, giggle and dress in lavish costumes at any given moment. She is mastering most of the climbing and sliding equipment in the big yard. She is able to focus during story times and add her own ideas when she wishes. During small group times Chloe focuses quietly on most art activities, carefully selecting the brushes and colors to create just the right effect upon the canvas. She is an observant child and knows what is happening not only in her immediate surroundings but outside her general area. She is quick to respond to an activity or event that interests her.
Chloe provides cheery energy and momentum for friends and teachers on a daily basis. She is a delight to have in the classroom and we look forward to seeing her continued growth in the future.
